Google Tuesday started rolling out a quick Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update for the Nexus devices, including LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 10. But later on, Nexus 7 and HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus were also added to the list.

According to reports, the update (1.1MB) is minor in nature. However, it brings the fix for the notorious “missing December” bug. The update is also said to have fixed a few bugs with Bluetooth and wireless Internet connectivity.

The “missing December” issue was first reported on the Google forums Nov. 14 by a user named Rohit.

"Today I was inserting birthday of a friend in my contact list so that I can sync the birthdays in my calendar," said Rohit, who had a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2. "I noticed that the December month is missing. When I pressed new event the calendar came but it was not having the option for the month December."

Following Rohit’s post, the Android Team addressed the issue last week in a Google+ post.

"We discovered a bug in the Android 4.2 update, which makes it impossible to enter December events in optional fields of the People app (this bug did not affect Calendar),” read the post. “Rest assured, this will be fixed soon so that those of you with December birthdays and anniversaries won't be forgotten by your friends and family.”

Although the update was a minor one, some users in Android Community were reporting that they had experienced “massive speed improvements” on their Nexus 7 devices.

“Wow, MAJOR improvement on my N7's speed. Especially with the multi-user support, it's actually usable now! Overall, system seems more responsive,” said one user.

“Minor update but a MAJOR improvement on my N7's speed and usability. I was having some serious slow-down issues but this seems to have mostly fixed my problems. Most importantly the choppiness while streaming music to my Bluetooth speaker issue seems to be mostly gone and nearly as good as the pre-4.2 update. Automatic screen rotations seem to be a bit quicker too,” another user commented.

Those who have a Nexus 7, Nexus 4 or Nexus 10 are suggested to keep checking their devices over the next few days and install the Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update through the over-the-air notification.
