Some of the newest planes and aviation technologies are on display this week at the 2014 Farnborough International Airshow in southern England.
On day 2 of the annual event, aerospace titans such as Boeing (NYSE:BA) and Airbus Group gathered at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire, England, Tuesday to show off some of their latest aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A350.
Also seen at the airshow was the U.S. Navy’s Boeing P-8-A Poseidon, one of the many aircraft used to search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which disappeared March 8.
Other military aircraft on display include the Italian Alenia Aermacchi’s M345 fighter jet, Turkish Aerospace Industries’ T129 attack helicopter, Boeing’s F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and Airbus’ A400M military transport plane.
More aircraft are expected to be shown in the skies in the coming days. Attendance at Farnborough International Airshow will continue to be limited to the industry until the weekend, and then the show opens to the general public Saturday and Sunday.
