ACA Awards 2012 Results: Luke Bryan Takes Home 9 Awards, Carrie Underwood Sets Record, Plus Full List Of All The Winners
Male Country singer Luke Bryan hit it big at last nights American Country Awards ceremony by taking home nine awards, including artist of the year, album of the year for "Tailgates and Tanlines" and single of the year for "I Don't Want This Night To End."
"Rarely am I rendered speechless, but I truly am," Bryan said backstage, according to Billboard.com. "I don't know how to formulate a series of words that can truly tell how appreciative I am to the fans for voting and making a night like this possible... I always take fan voted awards and cherish them. They are dear to my heart."
Bryan then reportedly said he asked his manager to cancel his 11 a.m. flight the next morning because he planned to celebrate. "We're going to make the most of the night. I always celebrate quite sufficiently," he smiled.
Hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth in Las Vegas, the two-hour American Country Awards featured performances from Rascal Flatts, group of the year winner Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, group music video of the year winner Little Big Town, and from Bryan himself.
The other big winner of the night was Carrie Underwood, for Female Artist of the Year and Single of the Year: Vocal Collaboration for "Remind Me," her duet with Brad Paisley.
By nabbing the two ACA awards last night, Underwood sent an ACAs record by racking up a total of 11 career honors - the most of any artist.
"American Idol" alum Lauren Alaina also picked up the best new artist honor.
