South Korean tech giant Samsung recently unveiled its new sets of products. It includes the latest flagship smartphone series, a new flip foldable Galaxy Z Flip, and the latest wireless earbuds Galaxy Buds Plus. In this article, we take a closer look at the new Galaxy Buds Plus and see how it fares with Apple’s AirPods Pro.

Core Specs

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus is more affordable than the Apple AirPods Pro. For just $149, users get extra five long hours of use, much faster quick-charge time and, in theory, better audio output, aside from an additional microphone.

Design

The Apple AirPods Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus have designs that are unique from each other. The AirPods Pro features a small tail at the bottom part. Both wireless earpieces feature in-ear design to help block out the noise outside. This same design also allows the earpieces to snugly fit on the user’s ears, giving them comfort even if used for longer hours.

The AirPods Pro is ideal when working out since it is sweat-resistant, but it works well even on regular settings. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Buds Plus is only IPX2 rated. AirPods Pro is only available in white color option while the Galaxy Buds Plus is available in Black, White, and Blue.

Features

Samsung is still unable to integrate the Active Noise Cancellation feature on the Galaxy Buds Plus and heavily relied on the noise isolation capability of the new wireless earpiece. However, the South Korean tech giant introduced the Ambient Sound feature, which is similar to the Transparency Mode of the AirPods Pro. The Galaxy Buds Plus offers Bluetooth 5.0 with multi-device support.

Meanwhile, Apple AirPods Pro houses the H1 chip with Audio Sharing and iCloud Sync. Apple’s proprietary chip is believed to provide better connectivity compared to the typical Bluetooth connections. Samsung level up the game by introducing the Galaxy Buds Plus to the iOS app, which means it can be used by iOS devices.

In terms of pricing, Samsung galaxy Buds Plus, as mentioned earlier, retails at $149 while Apple’s AirPods Pro retails at $249.
