Amal and George Clooney are officially parents. The Hollywood it couple welcomed their twins in London on Tuesday.

ET Online confirmed the birth of the couple’s first children. A rep for the Clooneys revealed that mom and babies are doing well, though he joked that the “Ocean’s Eleven” actor is going to need “a few days.” In addition to confirming the birth of their kids, Amal and George’s rep revealed their adorable names.

“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine,” the rep said. “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

Just days prior to the birth of their twins, Amal and George received a special visit from a high-profile friend. According to People magazine, former president Barack Obama popped in at the couple’s mansion in the English countryside on May 27. Sources claim he was there for several hours, leaving late at night.

In April, sources told E! Online that Amal and George were planning on welcoming their twins in London. The pair reportedly intend to raise the children there, at least for the first few years of their lives. Sources added that Amal intended to keep a low profile after the twins’ birth.

Although both Amal and George have taken to a life outside of the spotlight, the actor shared several details about fatherhood during his wife’s pregnancy. In March he opened up to Extra about impending parenthood, revealing that Amal was “doing really great.” George claimed that he was doing as much as possible to be helpful, but his options were limited.

“She is doing really great,” he said. “She is amazing. I don’t have anything to do. There is nothing I can do to help, but make tea and stuff.”

In a previous interview with E! News George discussed potential names for the twins. At the time, he said they hadn’t yet settled on anything. He assured the publication, however, that they wouldn’t be consulting their parents.

“Because I’ve had friends pick out names around their parents and then it becomes...whatever name you pick they’re like, ‘Oh, I don’t like that. That guy’s a prime minister...Can’t name her Susan. You remember your Aunt Susan?’” He joked.

The couple was somewhat subdued in what details they shared with the public during Amal’s pregnancy. Their family, on the other hand, freely shared details. Nina Clooney, the actor’s mother, told Vogue Magazine that they were expecting a boy and a girl —at least, to the best of her knowledge.

“It will be one of each! Yes, a boy and a girl. That’s what I’ve been told,” she said at the time.

Amal and George announced in January that they were expecting twins. At the time, the couple had been married for just over two years. They tied the knot in 2014 in Venice, Italy.

No photos of the twins are available at this time. It’s unclear whether Amal and George plan to share photos of the newborns.
