From Kid Cudi to Demi Lovato, many celebrities have become more public with their mental health. The latest celeb to join the list is “Fathers and Daughters” actress Amanda Seyfried.

In the November issue of Allure, the actress casually opens up about her obsessive compulsive disorder while discussing a home she recently purchased. According to Seyfried, she bought a home in Stone Ridge, New York in 2013 and had it redone. The 30-year-old actress said she renovated one of the barns at the house for guests, putting a bathroom and kitchenette in it but with no stove, as she would prefer people to eat in the house.

“Also, I always worry about people and how they use stoves. Which is just a controlling thing,” said Seyfried. It’s the worrying that the actress says is related to her OCD. After opening up about her OCD, Seyfried revealed she has been on the antidepressant drug, Lexapro, since she was 19 years old.

“I’m on Lexapro, and I'll never get off of it,” she said. “I’m on the lowest dose. I don’t see the point of getting off of it. Whether it's placebo or not, I don’t want to risk it. And what are you fighting against? Just the stigma of using a tool? A mental illness is a thing that people cast in a different category [from other illnesses], but I don't think it is. It should be taken as seriously as anything else.”

It’s not Seyfried’s first time discussing mental health. Last year, during an interview with Marie Claire U.K., the “Mean Girls” actress revealed she regularly goes to therapy. “I just think, you go to your doctor about heart problems, or an eye doctor if you have an infection, you have to take care of yourself. Mental health is so segregated, it sucks. You don’t necessarily have to have something chemically wrong with your brain to have mental health issues.”

Elsewhere in the Allure interview, Seyfried revealed that when her OCD becomes too much for her, she likes to retreat to her upstate New York home. “I love this place so much. I love this town!” Seyfried said. “There’s a little strip mall. But it’s a cute strip mall.”

After starring in “Fathers and Daughters” last year with Russell Crowe, Seyfried is currently working on the films “Hearing” and “Anon.” She also stars in the upcoming film, “The Last Word.”
