  • Heard and Elon Musk had been texting while she was still married to Depp

Amber Heard's verbal attacks against Johnny Depp as revealed in a leaked recording appalled and shocked the actress’ friend, Me Too activist Amanda de Cadenet.

Heard turned to de Cadenet when her marriage with Depp crumbled. De Cadenet became an immediate support and ally to Heard, but she had a change of heart.

“As a long time womxn’s rights activist and survivor, it is my fundamental position to believe womxn who speak up about domestic or sexual assault,” she stated in her June 18 declaration using the alternative spelling for women favored by feminists and trans activists (via Daily Mail).

De Cadenet considered how women were silenced historically, so she immediately believed Heard’s claims when the “Aquaman” star shared her version of her conflict with Depp. However, de Cadenet decided to drop her support for Heard in Depp’s defamation case against the actress after hearing how the latter spoke abusively against the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.

“I recently acknowledged that I will not testifying (sic) in Johnny Depp’s upcoming defamation case against the Sun. I also acknowledged that new facts have come to my attention which has changed my perspective on this matter,” de Cadenet added.

“When the first audio tape was released, and I heard Amber being verbally abusive to Johnny, I was horrified. I texted Robbie Kaplan, Amber’s attorney, and let her know I needed to speak with her urgently. When we spoke, I told her I was appalled and shocked to hear how Amber was speaking to Johnny and that it was not ok with me.”

According to de Cadenet, Heard told her the recording was edited by Depp’s team. The activist was hoping that Heard would “take accountability for her behavior but she did not.”

“I have not spoken with Amber since this exchange and have come to the very painful realization that someone who I advocated for and believed so wholeheartedly, was not entirely forthcoming with me,” she added.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk addressed Depp’s allegation that Heard cheated on “The Fantastic Beasts” star with him. The SpaceX CEO insisted that his relationship with Heard started after their divorce.

“I don’t think I was ever even in the vicinity of Amber during their marriage,” he said.

However, as Depp’s defamation case against Heard continued, it was revealed that the two were already texting while she was married to Depp. She even called him her “Rocketman.”

“The radio silence hurt a lot. It only matters because I really like you,” Musk reportedly texted Heard.
