Angela 'Big Ang' Raiola Funeral Photos Show Emotional Turnout For 'Mob Wives' Star
Angela "Big Ang" Raiola's friends and family members have said their goodbyes. The “Mob Wives” star’s funeral was held at St. Athanasius Church in Brooklyn, New York, Monday.
Photos from the religious event show the memorial service had a large turnout. Raiola's estranged husband, Neil Murphy, was shown in several emotional snaps. VH1 stars Drita D'Avanzo and Renee Graziano, who posted tributes to the reality star online Thursday, were in attendance.
Several members of Raiola’s family were also present. Her brothers Stephen Raiola and Louis Raiola and her son, Anthony D'Onofrio, were spotted outside the funeral.
SILive.com reports that more than 200 mourners attended the service, with pastor David L. Cassato calling Raiola "loved" during her memorial.
Prior to the funeral, Raiola’s family hosted four viewing services at Scarpaci Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Her sister, Donna Raiola, was pictured chatting with fans outside. “Mob Wives” stars Marissa Jade and Carla Facciolo were also photographed outside the funeral home.
Raiola died of cancer Thursday at age 55 after battling the disease for almost 10 months. She was first diagnosed with throat cancer in April. After undergoing two procedures, she was believed to be cancer-free until she was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain and lung cancer in December.
In Raiola’s last interview, she touched on the heartbreaking news she was battling cancer for a second time. “It's shocking what happened,” she told Dr. Mehmet Oz on “The Dr. Oz Show,” a segment which aired Feb. 16. "I thought I was cancer-free, I was going to have a big celebration..."
Raiola's upcoming scenes on “Mob Wives” will touch on her cancer battle but will not show her final days. The show’s sixth season wrapped in February.
