The creator of 'Glee', Fox’s hit musical show, Ryan Murphy does not take refusals to feature on his show too well. He recently got into a spat with the rock band, Kings of Leon and has called Slash , the ex guitarist of Guns ‘n’ Roses stupid for dissing the show.

In his war of words with Kings of Leon, Murphy told Hollywood Reporter, “ F— you, Kings of Leon. They’re self-centered assholes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.

This prompted the lead singer of the band to wonder as to why Murphy was so angry. KOL officially issued a statement to the media telling that when they turned down the Glee offer they hadn’t even seen the show, therefore they didn’t know what it was all about. The band’s drummer , Nathan Followill , took the issue a little further and fired back via Twitter, saying: Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say fuck.

Ryan Murphy obviously took offense at the gay slur and shot back via the press about the homophobic tendencies of people. He said in a statement to Perez Hiton.com,” I would love to sit down with Nathan or any member of Kings and Leon, and tell them how on Glee we actually love their music, and support their artistry... but cannot condone or even laugh at their clear disdain of gay people”.

However, Nathan tweeted an apology within hours of his earlier tweet:I’m sorry 4 anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or misogynistic. I’m so not that kind of person. I really do apologise.

Murphy has added to the controversy by calling another rock and roll hero, Slash stupid. Recently, Slash dissed the show and said Guns’n’Roses would never want to be a part of such a show. He said all musicals including Grease, were hard to bear.

Murphy, not one to keep quiet has blasted the guitarist in a scathing rant to RollingStone.com. He said, Usually I find that people who make those comments, their careers are over; they're uneducated and quite stupid.

Ryan Murphy should just concentrate on the celebrities who are eagerly lining up to be featured on the show. Some people like to walk their own line.
