“I love Hitler”: Designer John Galliano’s controversial anti-Semitic remark (VIDEO)
Renowned designer, John Galliano's recent anti-Semitic video has created ripples of shock in the fashion industry.
A cell phone video posted on the British daily website, the Sun, showed the designer arguing with a couple at La Perle stating, I love Hitler. It is however unclear if the video was taken on the same Thursday evening that Galliano was arrested for his anti-Semitic remarks.
The video has been reportedly purchased by the Sun from a social network site called CitizenSide.
Refraining to comment on the video, Galliano's lawyer, Stephane Zerbib told the AP that What matters isn't what's on the Internet, what matters are the testimonies and the hearings. What's on the Internet doesn't have much value.
Head designer of couture fashion house, Christian Dior, Galliano is known for his spectacular creations and fashion shows.
Following the alleged assault in the Paris bar, Dior issued a statement on Friday announcing the suspension of the designer till the conclusion of the investigations.
On 1 March 2011, the fashion house issued a second statement announcing that it had begun procedures of dismissal for Galliano.
