Weiner cross-dressing photos emerge

The wife of Rep. Anthony Weiner returned from work in the Middle East and Africa to find the news of her scandal-ridden husband hadn't subsided. In fact, Huma Abedin's arrival coincided with the emergence of a new set of images: Photos of her husband cross-dressing.

The latest images, which were splashed on the cover of the National Enquirer, Fox News reported, date back to his college days at the State University of Plattsburgh. The pictures were taken by a college friend in 1983, when Weiner was 18.

In one photo, Weiner is smiling at the camera while wearing a bra and pantyhose. In another, Weiner is oiled and posing in front of a Christmas tree in y-fronted swimming trunks.

As if this revelation were not enough, porn star Ginger Lee had her own announcement: Weiner asked her to lie about their online relationship.

At a press conference in New York on Wednesday, Lee, with her attorney Gloria Allred, said Weiner asked her to lie during a phone conversation that took place June 2.

He asked me to lie about our communication, Lee said. I think Anthony Weiner should resign because he lied to the public and the press for more than a week. It might never have turned into this if he had told the truth, but he kept lying.

During the press conference, Lee said once the scandal broke, she turned to Weiner for advice on how to handle it.

I put out a three sentence communication that he told me to say, she said. Once it got to a point that he lied on national television, then I knew that anything I said after that would have to be either a lie or an admission. I didn't want to do either.

On June 2, he called and told me what to say and do and how to deal with the mounting pressure from the press and how to handle it. He told me if neither of us said anything over the weekend, the story would calm down and die. ... I knew that I couldn't lie for him, but I couldn't be the one who kicked him under the bus.

Lee's lawyer, Allred, said her client and the congressman exchanged about 100 messages until about two weeks ago. Neither, Allred said, sent photos of themselves during their exchanges.

Weiner has taken a two-week leave of absence from Congress to seek treatment.

Lee is one of the six women Weiner admitted sending raunchy online messages to over the last three years. The scandal began when Weiner accidentally posted a photo of his bulging crotch to his Twitter, then falsely claiming his account had been hacked as part of a prank. He finally came clean

Weiner has ignored repeated calls from Republicans, fellow Democrats, and even President Barack Obama, to resign from his post.
