LATEST PICTURES: Kate Middleton opts for fashion diplomacy
Canadian symbols, designers and color patterns ... the 29-year old fashionista, Kate Middleton, definitely knows how to convey the right message during an official royal tour.
Her complete wardrobe selection for the eleven-day tour has been a reflection of her attempts to create a lasting link between the two countries and strengthen the strategic bonds.
The Duchess demonstrated her diplomatic fashion sense the very day she set foot at the Macdonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa, Canada, in a navy-blue lacy dress by Erdem.
Based in London, Canadian-born designer Erdem Moralioglu is known for exquisite creations. Erdem has dressed some of the most famous women in the world including Michelle Obama, Sarah Brown and Samantha Cameron apart from a number of Hollywood stars.
The Erdem-fashion statement was re-created once again on July 3, 2011 when the Duchess stepped out of the HMCS Montreal in a royal blue knee-length Jacquenta dress by the designer.
Another smart fashion move that Kate made to re-instate the historic relationship between the two nations was the selection of a diamond maple leaf brooch in the form of the national emblem of Canada.
Apparently, this was the same brooch that Queen Elizabeth wore during her first royal visit to Canada.
