Michael Jackson, the megastar pop-singer, died after suffering a cardiac arrest, TMZ reported on its web site on Friday afternoon.

He suffered the attack at his Holmby Hills home and paramedicas were unable to revive him, according to the report.

Jackson was dead when paramedicas arrived an anonymous source told the web site.

The hospital staff tried to resucitate him but couldn't.

As of 6:08 p.m. other news outlets, including People.com and CNN had only reported the singer had suffered cardiac arrest.
