Pet python escape to kills 2-year old child
A yellow-white, 9 feet Burmese pet python on Thursday reportedly wrapped itself on a 2 year-old baby and crushed her to death at Oxford, Florida home.
It had escaped from a glass aquarium in the living room just after midnight Wednesday, The owner put it in a bag and returned it back, according to the report. Then, later in the early morning the snake owner discovered that the snake was again out of its case and made its way into the child's crib.
Our stupid snake got out in the middle of the night and strangled her, Charles Jason Darnell, 32, the boyfriend of the child's mother and snake's owner said.
He got a knife and started stabbing the snake but it slipped away so fast under a dresser, the investigator said. But the 2 year-old Shaiunna Hare, was already dead when deputies arrived at the home about 10 a.m
Mr Darnell did not have a permit for the snake According to BBC reports. It might face child endangerment or other charges.
Burmese python usually eat their prey alive, and could live over 30 years. It can also reach the length of 26 feet and weigh over 200 lbs.
