Lady Gaga, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama among Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women [PHOTOS]
Lady Gaga, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are three of the most powerful women in the world, according to Forbes.
The magazine, which released its annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Women on Wednesday, has placed Gaga at number 11, the highest by a celebrity.
All the women in the top 10 are CEOs, leaders of non-profits or politicians, including German chancellor Angela Merkel, who topped the list.
Gaga, who was number 7 in 2010, beats Oprah Winfrey, who dropped from number 3 to 14.
Forbes ranked the women based on a three-metric system of dollars, a traditional and social media component and power base points.
Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie, Ellen DeGeneres and Sarah Palin round out the list.
Gaga, known to her fans as Mother Monster, is scheduled to perform at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Viewers will remember that the 25-year-old notoriously showed up to last year's VMAs in a controversial meat dress, complete with a meat purse.
I'm really very honored and excited to open the show . . . but I won't reveal anything; I want it to be a surprise, Gaga told MTV News.
Her second studio album, Born This Way, has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide since its May release.
