9/11 Conspiracy Film Festival Questions Events at Twin Towers
Questioning the official version of the events of Sept. 11, 2001, several San Francisco Bay area residents have put together a 9/11 conspiracy film festival to coincide with the 10-year anniversary of the events.
The festival, titled 9/11 Reclaiming the Truth, Reclaiming our Future, is organized by the Northern California 911 Truth Alliance. The group formed shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks to seek and disseminate truths about the terrible crimes committed on Sept. 11, 2001, exposing gaps and deceptions in the official story.
According to their Web site:
Our goal is to inspire more eyewitness revelations, truthful media coverage, and a movement that will bring the responsible criminals to justice and eliminate governmental and corporate policies that enable criminal elements to commit such acts.
The group meets twice monthly in Berkeley, and the main goal of their film festival is to inform attendees of what it feels is the disparity between the official version and the actual events.
The film festival had its first night on Thursday in Oakland and will finish on Sunday, Sept. 11, in San Francisco.
The lineup includes films along with spoken word, music, art, comedy, action and dialogue.
Some of films slated for the event include Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup, 9/11 Explosive Evidence - Experts Speak Out, and We Were Also Killed on 9/11: First Responders.
The group organized its first festival in 2004 and has had similar annual events ever since.
Related events are being held in Seattle and Toronto, and portions of those events will be broadcast live in the Bay Area.
Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance co-founder Carol Brouillet explained to NBC that even within their organization, not everyone agrees about what actually happened that day.
Nobody has the same idea of what happened, because it was big, complex, and no one has access to all the information, Brouillet said.
The group is not alone in its conspiracy beliefs. A recent BBC News poll found that 15 percent of Americans believe there was a conspiracy behind 9/11 that involved the federal government.
