I felt things were getting inappropriate.

That's what a farmer in Northern Ireland told BBC News after he asked one of the world's biggest superstars, Rihanna, to leave his property.

I requested them to stop and they did, he explained. I had my conversation with Rihanna and I hope she understands where I'm coming from. We shook hands.

So what was the Barbadian beauty doing in Alderman Alan Graham's field that was so inappropriate.

Well, she was topless.

The singer stripped down to film a new music video for the single We Found Love in Graham's field.

The event drew hundreds of locals who gathered by the road to watch the impromptu performance.

This had Alderman rather confused.

I didn't know who was coming, he told BBC News. If the name 'Rihanna' had been mentioned, well, no disrespect, but it wouldn't have meant anything, he said, admitting that he had no idea who the superstar was.

Rihanna became a big star in the United States and her native Barbados with the 2006 hit S.O.S. She went on to achieve worldwide fame with her 2007 hit Umbrella.

But, to Alderman, she was just an inappropriate spectacle in his yard.

The 23-year-old sex symbol asked permission to use Alderman's field in Bangor, County Down, for the pop video last week. She pulled up in a white caravan and traffic in the area ground to a halt as drivers rubbernecked to get a glimpse of the star -- that is, until Alderman asked her to leave.

At first, Rihanna was wearing a checkered shirt and jeans. Then the star stripped to a stars-and-stripes bikini and red bra. As soon as the bra came off, Graham reportedly climbed off his tractor and pulled the plug.

I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends, Alderman told BBC News. Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.

Rihanna is slated to perform in Belfast three times this weekend before moving on to Dublin. Presumably, Graham will not be attending.
