Beyonce Accused of Plagiarism Again, This time for Countdown (Comparison Video)

American singer Beyonce Knowle's latest music video Countdown has caused a controversy, just a day after premiering to relatively positive reviews.

The problem is that the video is allegedly copied from Belgian choreographer, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's work.

Countdown is directed by Queen Bey and Adria Petty. According to Aceshowbiz, Beyonce has not responded to the rumor so far.

A YouTube video has been made available, with footage from both videos in question, allowing for comparison between the two.

Adria had previously admitted that the form of Beyonce's video did take inspiration from some European works.

I brought Beyonce a number of references and we picked some out together. Most were German modern-dance references, believe it or not. But it really evolved, she said in an interview with MTV that came out around the same time the video premiered.

The alleged original creator of the video, Anne, told a Danish blog that while she wasn't angry, she was upset with the act of plagarism.

I didn't know anything about this. I'm not mad, but this is plagiarism, said Anne, according to the Aceshowbiz report.

On the surface, Anne didn't seem to upset over the situation.

This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. ... It's a bit rude, I must say, she went on, according to the report.

What's rude about it is that they don't even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it's a famous work. ... Am I honored? Look, I've seen local school kids doing this. That's a lot more beautiful, said Anne.

Last summer, Beyonce was accused of copying the work of Italian pop star Lorella Cuccarini, in a hugely-appreciated performance at the Billboard Music Awards. At that time, Beyonce said that she had been inspired by Cuccarini's video, which her make-up artist had shown her.
