Windows Tablet PC ‘OCS9’ Pre-orders Begin Oct. 18, Will Feature Smart O-bar

OCS9, OCOSMOS' new tablet PC, will be sold by pre-order online starting Oct. 18 through technology retailer Dynamism. While the option to pre-order will only be available in the U.S., Japan and Korea, OCOSMOS says it will soon begin to market products in other countries. However, the company has not listed the price of the tablet yet.

OCS9 - officially presented at CES 2011 - measures 11.9 millimeters in height and is 10.1 inches wide. It uses Window 7 OS with a built-in Intel Oak Trail Atom CPU.

Additional features include 64GB internal SSD storage, a 1.3 megapixel front camera and a 3.1 megapixel rear, a nine-inch (diagonal) multi-touch display, and a detachable QWERTY controller with virtual keyboard.

It also offers a carrying case and a docking station to connect the tablet to a television, all of which will be part of the pre-order, according to OCOSMOS.

The OCS9 will also feature the smart O-bar, which attracted the interest of many last September at the Intel Developer Forum. The smart O-Bar is an integrated controller used for gaming, and can even be used to play Windows PC games, online games, motion games, and touch games.

The device will be Bluetooth and wifi capable, according to Engadget, and O-Bar will be accessible via both. Engadget also reports that the tablet will sport GPS and USB 2.0 HS ports, as well as a microSD card slot that will support cards with capacities of up to 64GB.
