Kate Middleton Dons One-Shoulder Jenny Packham at St. James’s Gala Dinner
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted a black-tie reception and dinner, at St. James' Palace in London, for the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) appeal. The NMA is a memorial to British soldiers and, according to the guidebook the National Memorial Arboretum honours the fallen, recognises sacrifice and fosters pride in our country. It is a spiritually uplifting place and is emerging as a world-renowned centre for remembrance.
The Duchess was dressed in silver, Grecian-style gown by Jenny Packham, and paired the one-shoulder dress with large, diamond-drop earrings.
The appeal for funds, now an annual affair, was first launched by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, who is its patron, on April 24, 2009. The funds so raised are used to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities for widows and families of fallen soldiers and their comrades.
The most recent event was held in honor of the UK's Remembrance Day, which falls on Nov. 11.
