Doyle Bramhall, an acclaimed Texas musician, died at the age of 62 at his home in Alpine on Sunday, multiple Texas news sources have reported.

Bramhall's cause of death is not currently known, but a friend of the musician told The Houston Chronicle that the Dallas-born singer, drummer and songwriter was recently suffering from pneumonia.

He was scheduled to perform on Nov. 26, at the Granada Theater.

A spokesperson for the Granada Theater on Sunday afternoon told the media that its management plans to issue a statement on Bramhall's death. The venue will also address the Nov. 26 show at a later time.

The Dallas native had a more than 40-year-long career. Outside of his work in Texas, he was known for his collaboration Stevie Ray Vaughan. Vaughan recorded several songs written and co-written by Bramhall.

Bramhall's most recent solo album was his Grammy-nominated Is It News in 2007.

The singer reportedly is survived by his son Doyle Bramhall II, a guitarist, and his wife, Barbara Logan.
