Kirstie Alley from ‘Dancing’ Says Using a Treadmill ‘Would Make me Slit my Throat’
It's a good thing Kirstie Alley took a shine to busting a move on Dancing with the Stars last season, particularly because the Cheers actress told People Monday that the 100 pounds she lost by getting back on the dance floor afterward was a lot more fun than going near a treadmill.
The biggest thing that changed my life was it gave me something that I can do every day that I actually love that doesn't feel like a hardship or a grind, Alley said. Come on, getting on a treadmill every day would make me slit my throat.
Alley, whose weight had climbed to about 230 pounds by the time Dancing with the Stars teamed her up with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, added that the dances she does are pretty intense.
My teacher Serge does ballroom fitness, said Alley, and that kicks your ass.
While Alley raved that her combination of dancing and the weight loss supplement Rescue Me are making her more energetic than ever, she admitted it's not easy to keep the pounds off.
Maintenance probably is the hardest part, Alley said.
Us Weekly reported Friday that Alley's ex-partner made up with Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough after lashing out at him during an interview for Good Morning America following Chmerkovskiy and soccer player Hope Solo's departure on Nov. 15.
They are fine with each other now, the source said.
