Lindsey Vonn Celebrates Win With 'Tebowing' (PHOTOS)
U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn celebrated her first World Cup win in the United States by Tebowing at the podium, an homage to Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.
Vonn was joined by Tebow's brother Bobby at the World Cup race in Colorado and after confirming with Bobby that a Tebowing celebration was okay, Vonn hammed it up for the cameras in Tebow's signature pose after the race.
The pose is in reference to the Broncos quarterback frequently taking to one knee and praying to God before, during, and after football games. Tebowing quickly became a fad with even long-time comedian Bill Cosby getting in on the fun.
Vonn is currently in the process of divorcing her husband of four years, Thomas Vonn. Her husband Thomas was a major presence in her skiing career and some thought that his absence could lead to disappointing results, but Vonn sought out to prove in Colorado that she still has the skills.
I read some articles where people doubted whether I would be able to succeed without the support system that I had before,'' Vonn told reporters after the race. I guess I wanted to prove them wrong.
I hope that I can keep skiing fast. I hope that I can continue to represent my fans and my team well. This is an incredible sport and I'm extremely fortunate and happy to be a skier. The talent and momentum on the U.S. Ski Team right now is incredible.
Over her career, Vonn has won three consecutive World Cup titles, five world championship medals, and a gold medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
