iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak: Battery Drain Issue Will Keep Apple, Dev-Team Members on Toes

People using Apple's latest iOS 5 mobile operating system are looking forward to an update which could solve the battery drain problem in their costly Apple devices running on iOS 5. But at the same time, the users are also waiting for an official release of an untethered jailbreak from any of the two Dev-teams.

When Apple is trying hard to make its programs and devices hack-free, members of Chronic and iPhone Dev-teams are also leaving no stone unturned to find exploits in the devices which can give Apple users a bigger place to find amazing applications.

Apple last month confirmed an updated version of its latest mobile operating software iOS 5. The Cupertino-based tech giant, which has been facing issues related to battery backup, has released iOS 5.1 Beta for developers.

In just 10 days from Apple's update, members of both the Dev-teams also came out with two breakthroughs, which can lead to an untethered jailbreak release soon.

Apple and Dev-team members may be succeeding in their efforts, but one thing which will keep them on their toes is the battery problem.

After receiving numerous complaints about the battery drain, Apple came out with iOS 5.0.1 to solve the problem but the update could not do what it was expected to.

Dev-team members have collected exploits from iOS 5 and the first update and are working on the tethered, semi-tethered and untethered jailbreaks for both iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1. But as Apple has already put the new update for iOS 5, the hackers will have to start the process of finding crucial loopholes in the operating system.

In case Apple fails to find a solution for the battery issue in the new update also, the developers will have to start the working on the operating system from scratch as the new update is reported to be coming in Apple's new devices also.

If Apple finds the solution in this update, members of Dev-teams will again go looking for exploits in the iOS 5.1 as jailbreaking fans would not choose fancy applications and features over the battery life of their Apple devices.

The long wait of all the Apple device users to perform the jailbreak is going to be over soon as two hackers from two different Dev-teams have found two crucial jailbreaking milestones in a day.

Pod2g, a member of the Chronic Dev-team, posted a video link of an untethered jailbreak demonstration Friday. Pod2g did not say anything about the release of the jailbreak. On the same day,iPhone Dev-team member Musclenerd confirmed that the upcoming version of redsn0w would be able to save both TinyUmbrella and Cydia blob saves useful for 5.0+ (1st verifies, then stitches).

With both the sides (Apple and hackers) working hard to find the solutions and updates for their products, it will be interesting to see which one gets some time to rest. But out of this whole battle, Apple users will be getting the fruitful result.
