Dana Loesch on Marines Urinating on Taliban Corpses: 'I'd Drop Trou and do it too' [AUDIO & VIDEO]
Dana LoEsch, a CNN contributor and conservative radio host, said on her show that she thinks the Marines who were videoed urinating on Taliban corpses are cool and that she wants a million cool points for these guys.
Loesch is also the editor-in-chief of Big Journalism, a conservative Web site and the co-founder of the St. Louis Tea Party.
The Huffington Post reported that the Riverfront Times said that Loesch left the group in December.
Loesch played a news clip explaining that the U.S. military is investigating the video that shows what appears to be Marines urinating on the dead body of Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan. The news reporter said the video was uploaded to several sites including YouTube and could be another blow for U.S., which has been caught up in previous scandals.
Can someone explain to me if there is supposed to be a scandal that someone pees on the corpse of a Taliban fighter -- someone who as part of an organization murdered over 3,000 Americans, Loesch said. I'd drop trou and do it too. That's me, though. I want a million cool points for these guys. Is that harsh to say? Come on people this is a war. What do you think this is? What do people think this is. I am totally not politically correct. I tols you this. They think that we are going to sit down and have tea.
Do I have a problem with that as a citizen of the United States? No, I don't, she added.
According to the Huffington Post, Loesch made those comments on The Dana Show. The show airs daily on FM News Talk 97.1, a conservative radio station in St. Louis, Mo.
Reports are that all four Marines who were filmed urinating on the corpses have been identified but the military has not revealed their names.
CBS News reported that the men are thought to be snipers from the Camp Lejeune, North Carolina-based 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment who were serving in the Helmand province in southern Afghanistan when the video was recorded.
Marine Corps Commandant General James Amos has issued a statement noting that the institution of the Marine Corps will not rest until the allegations and the events surrounding them have been resolved.
Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta added that I think if we move quickly - if we conduct this investigation and hold these people accountable - we send a clear signal to the world that the U.S. is not going to tolerate that kind of behavior and it doesn't represent the United States as a whole.
Prior to Loesch saying how cool the Marines were for urinating on the Taliban fighters' dead body, on Thursday, conservative blogger Pamela Geller, who is also executive director of the American Freedom Defense Initiative, wrote in her blog Atlas Shrugs, that she loves the four U.S. Marines seen urinating on three Taliban corpses.
I love these Marines. Perhaps this is the infidel interpretation of the Islamic ritual of washing and preparing the body for burial, Geller wrote.
