R.I.P. Davy Jones: Twitter Says He Died Too Young; Celebrities React

The death of Davy Jones, lead singer of the 1960s group The Monkees, on Wednesday saddened fans around the world as well as celebrities who grew up listening to the band, and many have taken to Twitter to offer their condolences, saying that he died too young at 66.

Jones died in of a massive heart attack in Indiantown, Fla., where he lived, his publicist Helen Kensick told the media. He had complained about not feeling well earlier that day and he was taken to Martin Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to The Associated Press.

Jones was born in England and was a former jockey and child actor in his native country. In 1965, Jones was chosen to be a part of the rock band The Monkees, which quickly took over radio and television worldwide.
