'Black Madam' Arrested: Padge Victoria Windslowe Accused of Administering Illegal Butt Injections
A transgender hip-hop artist known as the Black Madam has been arrested on charges of administering illegal injections to women's buttocks.
Padge Victoria Windslowe, the 42-year-old Black Madam, was taken into Philadelphia police custody Wednesday as she prepared to host what authorities called a pumping party, reported The Associated Press.
An unidentified 23-year-old woman at the scene was treated for pneumonia at Temple University Hospital, reported Philly.com. She was allegedly coughing up blood, and was also treated for a blocked artery in her lung.
Windslowe is accused of aggravated assaulted and shady business practices after one her clients was stricken with lung problems after the dubious injections. Windslowe was arraigned Thursday in Philadelphia court and is being held on $10 million bail, reported the AP.
It's similar to the Aderotimi case, said Philadelphia police Lt. John Walker, according to Philly.com. What allegedly happened is Padge Victoria injected her, hit a blood vessel; the substance entered her bloodstream, goes through [and] lands in her lungs.
Windslowe has already been called a person of interest in the death of Claudia Aderotimi, a 20-year-old British woman who received Black Madam injections. Aderotimi allegedly complained about chest pains and problems breathing after meeting with Windslowe. However, police have not filed any charges.
We knew she was the injector back in the 2011 [Aderotimi] case, said Walker, according to the AP.
Police had set up surveillance when they learned Windslowe planned to inject other unsuspecting victims at her house on Pastorius Street near Baynton in Philadelphia.
When they searched her house, they discovered needles, Super Glue, cotton balls, and a water bottle containing an unknown substance. The substance is what authorities believe Windslowe uses in her injections. Police said five other people were in the house, waiting for injections.
We were not gonna let it get that far, Walker said. We knew she was going to be there and didn't want to let it get to a point where she was injecting people.
