Michael Fassbender Could Help You Get Your 15-Minutes of Fame
Tinseltown's reigning king of raw talent, Michael Fassbender will soon be helping other artists achieve praise for their work. The award winning actor will team with director Ridley Scott for the Your Film Festival, which allows filmmakers from around the world to submit 15-minute works. Films can be entered from now until March 31st. This summer, 50 submissions will be chosen by Scott's production company, Scott Free. Films may be any genre or format.
Youtube will feature the 50 chosen films and allow the public to vote for their favorites. From there the competition be be narrowed down to 10. The lucky finalists will be flown to the Venice Film Festival and have their work screened there! Scott and Fassbender will then select the winning film, which will be awarded a $500,000 production grant to collaborate with Scott Free on a new film.
Fassbender and Scott recently collaborated for the much hyped Alien prequel entitled Prometheus. Scott is a three time Oscar nominee who has been responsible for such culturally relevant films as Blade Runner, Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down'.
Fassbender has given riveting performances in films like Fish Tank, Hunger, and Shame. Multiple awards and accolades have been coming his way over the last few years and now he'd like to bestow such praise on others. He has expressed his desire to help emerging talent during the upcoming Venice Film Festival:
