True Blood Season 5 New Promo: Alcide Tells Sookie That Russell Is Back, Lafayette Confronts
Season five of True Blood won't premiere until Sunday, June 10, but the show creators realize that Waiting Sucks. A new promo for the HBO hit show has hit the Internet, and it is pretty intense.
The new Waiting Sucks promo for True Blood's season five is a behind the scenes clip of filming. Labeled as on location, 3:43 p.m., scene 47, take 1, the clip takes you inside Sookie's (Anna Paquin) kitchen as werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello) comes to visit.
What's going on that you couldn't just call, Sookie asks Alcide as she pours him a glass of lemonade. It's Russell Edgington, Sook, Alcide says with a somber face. He's on the loose. The news comes as a surprise to Sookie, who was under the impression that Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) killed Russell (Denis O'Hare). You mean they never told you? Alcide asks after Sookie's look of confusion.
The clip reveals Alcide telling Sookie that Russell will come after her, and that for her own protection, she should come with him. Sookie doesn't seem to be on the same page as Alcide though, and tells him that she can't go stay with him.
True Blood fans also get a quick look at Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), who appears to be staying at Sookie's house. Get the f*** out of her wolf, Lafayette threatens as he storms into Sookie's kitchen. How the f*** do you think you're going to protect her from an ancient, pissed off vampire? he yells at Alcide. We're done with all this supernatural bulls***, you heard me? No vampires, no ghosts, no witches, no Maynads and no f****** werewolves.
I'm throwing you a lifeline, please take it, Alcide begs, but Sookie won't budge.
Last season of True Blood ended with the death of Lafayette's boyfriend, Jesus(Kevin Alejandro). Tara's (Rutina Wesley) life is still up in the air, as she was last seen jumping in front of Sookie, who had a gun pointed at her by Alcide's ex-girlfriend, Debbie (Brit Morgan).
Season five of True Blood airs Sunday, June 10 and 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
