Apple is yet to officially announce the release date for the revamped -- perhaps re-designed -- Macbook Pro, but multiple reports of stock shortages suggests the launch is fast approaching.

Several authorized resellers, including Best Buy's online store, are reporting that the 15-inch MacBook Pro is out of stock, according to Apple Insider. Earlier this week, Mac Connection was out of stock of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, but has since stocked up.

Apple TV went through a similar stock shortage at second party retailers in March, and it was not long after the reports of inventory constraints that Apple launched the new revamped version of Apple TV, alongside the new iPad.

The Economic Daily Times of China is also reporting that the new MacBook Pro is under production at Foxconn and Quanta Computer and will be shipped by June.

The most popular rumors surrounding the MacBook Pro is that both the 13 and 15- inch models will be re-designed to look a lot like the ultra -thin MacBook Air.

Rumors suggest the 15- inch MacBook Pro will be the first to get a revamp with Intel's Core i5 and Core i7 Ivy Bridge chipset, which is expected to become available later this month. Current 15- inch MacBook run on Core i7 processors.

This week Intel released its 7-series chipset family that is expected to go alongside its microarchitecture processors called the Ivy Bridge. A source from Apple's supply chain told Apple Insider that the 15-inch MacBook Pro will be thicker than the MacBook Air but thinner than the current MacBook Pro.

The new MacBook is also rumored to come with an anti-glare retina display. Following the release of the new iPad, which came with a revolutionary 2048 x 1536, 3.1 million-pixel display, Apple Enthusiasts expect the company to use the same technology in their new laptops. An anti-glare display will mean that the MacBook can be used under more lighting condition with the distractive highly reflective-glare of the screen.

The 13 inch MacBook Pro will most likely get a refreshment in June, following by the 17 inch MacBook Pro later this year.
