Rupert Sanders Releases Statement Following Kristen Stewart, “Distraught” Over Cheating Situation
Following on the heels of Kristen Stewart, Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders has released a statement about their cheating scandal. His statement comes a day after Us Weekly released photos of the married director with the Twilight actress in an intimate embrace.
Rupert Sanders released the following statement:
I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.
Kristen Stewart released a statement as well about their affair:
I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry.
Sanders, 41, is married to British Vogue Model Liberty Ross, who have two young children together. Ross was even featured in Snow White and the Huntsman, which had Kristen Stewart as the lead role.
Stewart, 22, has been seeing her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson since 2008. The pair were recently seen together this past Sunday at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
Us Weekly reported that the actress was having a marathon makeout session with Sanders, 41, on July 17. The photographer who caught them in the act said that the two seemed like they couldn't get enough.
A source told People that Stewart just had a complete lapse in judgment, and that her brief fling with the married director was a mistake. She never meant to hurt anyone, continued the source.
Robert Pattinson and Liberty Ross have yet to release statements about their significant other's cheating.
