‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 Spoilers: New Photos From Set, An Interesting New Face
AMC's "The Walking Dead" is cruising through filming for season three. How do we know this? Creator and writer Robert Kirkman was nice enough to tweet about it!
Robert Kirkman took to his Twitter account over the weekend to inform spoiler hungry "Walking Dead" fans that they are halfway through filming the highly anticipated third season.
"We wrapped on the mid-season finale of @WalkingDead_AMC a few hours ago," Kirkman tweeted on Aug. 10. Amazing work from all involved, this Georgia crew kicks a--!"
The fourth season of "The Walking Dead" premieres on Oct. 14. In the past the show has taken a brief break in December and January, returning in February to finish out the season. Season three looks like it will be no different airing-wise, but has been bumped up to sixteen-episodes. The show previously aired six-episodes in season one and thirteen in season two.
Something that is also different this season is the setting. While season three found Rick's group of survivors primarily holed up on Hershel's farm, the safety of the house is long gone. After a zombie infestation that resulted in a barn burning down and numerous deaths, the group of survivors will make their way to two locations this season - the prison and the town of Woodbury.
Both locations have been briefly touched upon in the teaser trailer for the new season, but Kirkman treated patients fans to another peak of Woodbury via Twitter.
"Just a small season 3 tease. Shhh," Kirkman tweeted along with a photo of the Woodbury Welcome Center building.
Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on the series, also took to Twitter to give some (possible) season three spoilers. Reedus posted a picture of Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, in a makeup chair being attacked by a man with a giant squirrel head.
Will season three find the zombie virus causing mutations in wild life? Or were Reedus and Lincoln just having fun on set?
One Twitter user asked the question "Is this a new character in season 3?"
Looks like we'll find out soon when "The Walking Dead" returns to AMC on Oct. 14.
What do you think of the new photos from "The Walking Dead?"
