Over 100 Photos Go Viral Online of A Sex Orgy Allegedly Featuring High-Ranking Chinese Officials
Prominent politicians in China have been accused of participating in a sex orgy, after dozens of photos appeared on a blog site earlier this month featuring three naked men and two naked women in a hotel room.
The pictures, which were featured on the site, Sina Weibo, appear to show the Party secretary of Lujiang county in Anhui Province, Wang Minsheng, his deputy, Jiang Dabin, and the party's youth leader at Hefei University, Wang Yu. Over 100 photos were uploaded by an unknown user.
The high-ranking Chinese officials are shown engaging in a hotel "sex party," according to the Telegraph.
NBC reports that threesomes are technically illegal in China, and participants can be prosecuted under an obscure "group licentiousness" statute added to the Chinese criminal code in 1997.
Party secretary Minsheng denies any participation in a sex scandal, and says he is currently handling a corruption case, and suspects that the false allegations are related to the case, states Huffington Post. He claims the images were photo shopped fabrications by political enemies to slander his name alongside his fellow party members.
The third alleged orgy participant, Yu, on the other hand, has admitted that he is one of the men in the photo, and says the one of the two women in the pictures is his wife, a high school teacher in Hefei.
Chinese authorities have revoked their party membership and Wang Yu has since been fired.
The scandal meanwhile continues to receive much attention on the blog site. One blogger commented,
"How can teachers put themselves in such situations?", this man asks. "I hope this is only an isolated incident and that other teachers do not behave this way, or this could affect the quality of public service in our country."
