The “Avengers 4” trailer as finally arrived, and it revealed more than just plot details and an official title. It revealed that, like “Avengers: Infinity War,” Marvel Studios will release the movie earlier than planned.

Previously, “Avengers 4,” which is now officially titled “Avengers: Endgame,” was set to be released May 3, 2019. The trailer, however, ends by saying the movie will be out in April.

The official poster for “Avengers: Endgame” reveals that the movie will hit theaters on April 26, 2019. The release date falls on the same weekend that “Infinity War” was released last year. Of course, that means that Marvel fans should mark their calendars for April 25 if they want to go to the Thursday night preview screenings.

The “Avengers: Endgame” trailer shows that fans are in for a dark movie. Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is dying on a spaceship with no food or water. Meanwhile, Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) are back on Earth trying to come up with a plan. They might not even know Tony is alive.

Audiences see a brief glimpse of Hawkeye/Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), who is dressed in all black (possibly with a new persona). Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) also lightens the mood at the end of the trailer. His photo appears on a board with the presumed dead at the beginning, but the final clip in the promo video shows Scott ringing the doorbell at the Avengers compound.

In “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” Scott was stuck in the Quantum Realm after Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) snap hit. Wasp/Hope (Evangeline Lilly) and her parents were turned to dust, so they couldn’t pull him out. It looks like Scott found a way, though. Steve and Natasha are shocked by his return.

The “Avengers: Endgame” title is fitting. The filmmakers have emphasized many times that every Marvel Cinematic Universe movie has been building up to this. “Endgame” will be the 22nd film in the MCU, and the studio has not announced much beyond the spring film. Only “Spider-Man: Far From Home” has been confirmed (though a “Black Widow” film and several others are expected to officially be announced shortly after the epic finale).
