It’s been a Marvel-ous week for "Avengers" fans. Following its record breaking release of the first “Avengers: Age of Ultron” trailer, the studio dropped more jaws by announcing its Phase 3 movie plans through 2019 (including new heroes like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange and the Inhumans). As if that wasn’t enough, Marvel released an alternate trailer with additional footage following the Oct. 28 episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

The studio originally planned to premiere the first trailer during the episode. However, thanks to a leak that Marvel blamed on Hydra, it had to release the trailer six days early. This ended up working out great for fans when the studio decided to release additional footage for us to dissect instead. Below are the 4 things we learned from “Avengers: Age of Ultron’s” alternate trailer:

The Avengers’ friends can totally hang.

Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulers) has been floating in the background of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the first Avengers, playing key roles in both “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Now it seems she’s palling around with Earth’s mightiest heroes like Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).

Not to be outdone, Lt. James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) has been Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) best friend throughout each of the "Ironman" films (with Terrence Howard playing the character in the first movie). This, however, is the first time we’ve seen the character interact with any of the other Avengers. Frankly, it seems to be going pretty well.

Is Captain America worthy?

The trailer starts out significantly more fun than its predecessor, with everyone trying to lift Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) Hammer. When Ironman’s tech fails, Captain America (Chris Evans) steps up to give it a shot. While the first Avenger doesn’t lift the mighty weapon, he’s able to move it a little bit, giving Thor cause for concern. He did promise anyone who lifts it the throne of Asgard after all.

New friends, old toys.

Joss Whedon has made it clear that Tom Hiddleston’s iconic villain from the first “Avengers,” Loki, won’t be involved in the upcoming sequel. However, the villain's staff that caused so much trouble in the first film is back in this new trailer. It’s unclear what this means for the plot, but the staff did make a return in the post-credits sequence following “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” so anything could happen.

The Avengers can drink… Like, a lot.

The screencap shows the Avengers and friends sitting around having a good time - a really good time judging by all the open bottles and cups strewn around the room. Maybe it wasn’t all for them, maybe Captain America decided to try and get drunk despite his super-serum preventing his body from doing so. We’ll just have to wait until “Avengers: Age of Ultron” hits theaters in May of 2015.
