‘The Bachelor’ 2016 Spoilers: What Does Ben Higgins Think About Becca Tilley And Amber James Joining Season 20?
Season 20 of “The Bachelor” is premiering on ABC Monday, Jan. 4, and fans will see a couple of familiar faces. While many already know star Ben Higgins from Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of “The Bachelorette,” two of the contestants competing for his heart already appeared on Chris Soules’ season of the dating reality show -- Becca Tilley and Amber James.
Becca and Amber want a second chance at love with the 27-year-old software salesman, and Ben admitted to reporters during a press call that their return to the show “shocked” him. However, not for the reason you think. Ben revealed that he was shocked in the sense that he was “’really appreciative” that they wanted to join the show to meet him.
“It’s really crazy to see every woman show up to this place,” he explained to reporters. “I thought the same way about Becca and Amber.”
But don’t get confused. This isn’t another Kaitlyn Bristowe and Nick Viall situation. Just because these two women are already part of “The Bachelor” family, doesn’t mean that they knew Ben going into Season 20. Ben said that while he knew of them, he “didn’t know a lot” because he never fully watched Chris Soules’ season of “The Bachelor.”
“When I set out to be on ‘The Bachelorette’ I kind of took a step back from watching Chris’ season just because I knew I was going to be potentially dating one of those women,” he added. “I wanted to go in with kind of a clear mind and not have a lot of preconceptions about who people were.”
Fans will have to tune in to see if Ben hits it off with Becca or Amber. Meanwhile, Chris told International Business Times in October that he really couldn’t say whether or not his two exes will be a good fit for the new “Bachelor.”
“I can’t say that I know Ben well enough,” Chris explained to IBT, adding that he never really got to know Amber well either. “I do know that Becca is a great girl and deserves a great guy, so I hope the best for them if they are on the show.”
