A highly-regarded Barcelona loanee could be on the verge of finally becoming a breakout star.

After completing a successful maiden season with Barcelona, Francisco Trincao joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan this summer.

The 21-year-old did quite a good job as a debutant, having scored three goals in 35 appearances for Barca across all competitions this past season.

Heading into a new chapter in his young career, Trincao is already perceived as a difference-maker for the Wolves.

Speaking to BirminghamLive, Braga Under-23 coach Jose Carvalho Araujo weighed in on what’s ahead of Trincao with his loaning club.

According to Araujo, his former youth team star will fit in well with the Wolves as the team’s new manager, Bruno Lage, is the type of coach who “likes to develop” young talents.

“In Wolverhampton, with the playing style of Bruno Lage, I think it will suit him,” Araujo said of Trincao. “First, Bruno Lage backs young kids and likes to develop them. We saw that in Benfica when he won the Championship. He took kids from the B team and they did really well. This is a good coach for him.”

“With the style of play that he has, I think Trincao will be a good player in Wolverhampton,” he added. “He’s not like Pedro Neto - very fast - he will be a different kind of winger who wants to come inside and play between lines. He is more like a false number 10 that comes from the side.”

“He could give Wolverhampton a different solution to what we’ve watched in the past."

Trincao caught the attention of Barcelona last year. Under Araujo’s tutelage, the Portuguese propelled and has earned comparisons to both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Wolves, on the other hand, have been tracking the progress of Trincao for quite some now.

After witnessing what Trincao could do in Spain’s most competitive league, the Molineux was finally convinced that the winger is now ready for English Premier League football.

"We've watched him a lot, especially over the last couple of months, so he's been on our radar for quite a while," Wolves technical director Scott Sellars said of Trincao in a statement.

"He's got loads of quality -- signing for Barcelona from Braga shows what potential he's got,” he continued. “He's 21 and has played quite a lot of games in La Liga, so we think he's ready for the Premier League."
