Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) got arrested in “Better Call Saul” Season 3, episode 3. The slippery lawyer was charged with a slew of offenses including assault and damage to property by his brother Chuck (Michael McKean).

Chuck is determined to destroy Jimmy’s legal career. In the AMC series, he gives his brother a deal: No jail time if he confesses to committing a crime. The catch of the deal was that a copy of the confession would be sent to the bar which would revoke Jimmy’s license to practice law thus ending his career as an attorney.

Chuck doesn’t want his brother to go to jail, he simply wants him to stop practicing the law. Last week’s episode ended with Jimmy’s girlfriend Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) joining the fight between him and his brother.

What will happen next week on “Better Call Saul”?

Well, get ready for a battle because Jimmy and Chuck are going head-to-head as lawyers. The “Breaking Bad” spin-off has been building up their fight and now it’s coming to a head. The synopsis of Season 3, episode 4 on TVGuide reads, “Jimmy calls in a favor from Mike. Meanwhile, new complications disrupt the Salamancas' business; and Chuck and Jimmy struggle to compromise.”

Of course, Chuck is becoming more and more of a villain on the drama series. “Better Call Saul” writer Gennifer Hutchison, who wrote the last episode, explained what drives his character in an interview to The Hollywood Reporter. “There’s his [Chuck’s] fatal flaw of insisting on seeing Jimmy as a bad guy and not seeing the potential for good in his brother that really is what drives him,” she explained. “So when you’re working with someone that has that kind of a flaw, the villainy in their desperation naturally increases as things escalate. We try to build it really organically. He just ended up becoming more and more villainous, because I guess that’s the story we’re telling.”

Hutchison also spoke about Kim and Jimmy’s dynamic. She genuinely loves him so she wants to help him in his case against Chuck. However, there is a small part of her that knows it isn’t a good idea. “I think there is something about Kim that is self-destructive and there are aspects of Jimmy that speak to that, but attraction is something that’s very, very hard to pin down and I think all those things play a role,” she revealed.

The Season 3, episode 4 promo reveals that Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) is angry after discovering that one of his trucks was found to possess cocaine at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Meanwhile, Jimmy works with Mike (Jonathan Banks) but Mike is also busy working for Gus (Giancarlo Esposito). In fact, the parking attendant and former policeman thought that their business was concluded but, as “Breaking Bad” fans know all too well, he will continue to work for the Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant owner for several years.

“Better Call Saul” airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT on AMC.
