‘Blindspot’
Which Sandstorm member will Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt (Sullivan Stapleton) target next in “Blindspot” Season 2, episode 21? NBC

“Blindspot” Season 2, episode 21 will name another member of the mysterious organization, Sandstorm.

In “Mom,” Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) will crack a lead that will help them uncover Phase Two. Unfortunately, no other information from episode 21 has been released, but series creator Martin Gero told TV Guide that all of the upcoming installments make up one big finale for Season 2.

“These final four episodes of the season really almost play out as one giant finale. These episodes are super huge and have pretty big twists. But yeah, Phase 2 will play out over these next four episodes. I’ve always said we make these seasons like they’re books in a series of novels you really like, so each season has a really great beginning, middle and end. And the end of this season is enormous, questions you’ve had since episode 1 will be answered,” he said.

When asked what questions will be answered in the final four episodes, Gero said that some of them will have something to do with the tattoos, Shepherd’s (Michelle Hurd) endgame, and the huge mythology questions plaguing the series.

Gero also talked about Kurt and Jane’s relationship dynamic in the hit NBC series. Just recently, the two kissed. Even though they did not become a couple officially, the two characters are in a much better place now compared to when Season 2 premiered last year.

According to Gero, big things are still in store for Kurt and Jane. “We left Season 1 in a pretty bad place for them; he was arresting her, he felt completely betrayed by her. Very organically over the course of Season 2 we’ve been repairing that relationship, because they obviously have an undeniable chemistry and attraction to each other,” he said.

Meanwhile, ahead of episode 21, “Blindspot” Season 2 will first release episode 20, titled “In Words, Drown I.” The installment will see Zapata’s (Audrey Esparza) transgressions catching up to her. She will be sent to jail alongside a powerful Sandstorm asset named Devon (Ronda Rousey). In the teaser released by NBC for episode 20, Jane visits Zapata in jail and gets into a fight with Devon. Jane, who is known to be very strong and strategic, will have a hard time dealing with Devon. Luckily, Jane will receive help from Kurt, Patterson (Ashley Johnson) and Reade (Rob Brown) to get Zapata out of jail fast.

In other news, “Blindspot” Season 2 is almost over, but NBC still hasn’t made a decision regarding the fate of the series for Season 3. According to TV Line, the ratings for Season 2 have not been impressive, and the figures didn’t also go up to par with the ratings for Season 1. At that time, NBC renewed “Blindspot” for a second season just after the network released its first few episodes. On average, “Blindspot” Season 2 is down 40 percent from Season 1. The series only averaged 1.1 million viewers in the demo, and it recently dipped with as low as a 0.9 rating.

“Blindspot” Season 2, episode 20 will air on NBC on May 3 at 10 p.m. EST.
