‘Blindspot’
Why will Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) find herself inside a duffel bag in Times Square again in “Blindspot” Season 3? NBC

“Blindspot” Season 3 will serve as a reboot for the hit NBC series, and what better way to kick things off again by recreating an iconic scene from the original pilot.

In Season 1, a mysterious character named Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) suddenly resurfaced in a huge duffel bag found in the middle of Times Square in New York City. Jane got out of the bag, and the lead character was seen in “Blindspot” for the very first time, drawing attention for the numerous tattoos she had all over her naked body.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the premiere episode for Season 3 will see Jane getting out of a duffel bag in the middle of Times Square, but under very different circumstances. Season 3, episode 1 is also expected to feature a time jump, but it is unclear whether or not Jane will find herself in the bag before reuniting with Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) or after meeting him again.

Last month, executive producer Martin Gero told the same publication that new secrets about each of the characters will be revealed in Season 3. This way, viewers will feel as though there’s something new to look forward to. “They’re the same old characters that we know and love, but now they have some stuff we don’t know about them,” he said.

Gero also confirmed that the tattoo-centered storylines will play a huge part in the upcoming episodes. After all, Jane’s inks have already been explored in Seasons 1 and 2, but a new layer was found in the final moments of the latest season.

“This is the one that got everyone really excited once we realized that this is actually even physically possible, these bio-luminescent tattoos. What’s cool about them – and we’ll get to see this in Season 3 – is they’re new, but the way they’re oriented on her body, sometimes they reference what’s beneath them, so it becomes this 3D chess game of puzzle solving that’s really, really exciting for us,” he explained.

Talking about Season 3 being a reboot, Gero said that it basically means a return to Season 1.

“Blindspot” Season 3 will premiere on NBC on Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. EST.
