Dr. Temperance Brennan went on a roller coaster ride last season on Fox’s “Bones.” The forensic anthropologist was kidnapped by none other than her former assistant Zack Addy in the final moments of Season 11. Season 12 will reveal whether Zack really is the Puppeteer and what role he plays in the serial killer’s story.

What’s next for Brennan (Emily Deschanel) in the upcoming season? Well, apart from being held hostage, Booth’s (David Boreanaz) wife will continue to go for therapy in Season 12 despite the fact that her psychologist was arrested last season. In fact, she is going to have an intense storyline in the last season.

“Nothing is off the table, because some very, very, very serious, meaningful, hard-hitting things are going to happen to Brennan,” “Bones” co-showrunner Jonathan Collier told TVLine.

Brennan and Booth will also go undercover in an episode on “Bones.”

The synopsis of the final season of the Fox series teases a wedding, deaths and epic serial killer storylines. It’s easy to guess that the upcoming wedding will be between Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo (Pej Vahdat). Also, the show will try its best to wrap up storylines and give a fitting ending to the long-running crime series.

Several guest-stars will be seen in Season 12 including Emmy award-wining actors Ed Asner, Hal Holbrook and Oscar-nominated actress June Squibb. Additionally, Eddie McClintock, who played Brennan’s former love interest Sully, will return to the show.

Hopefully, “Bones” will give long-time fans the closure they need.

“Bones” Season 12, episode 1, titled “The Hope In The Horror,” will premiere in early 2017 and not during the fall. The final season will only have 12 episodes.
