Carly Rae Jepson, 'Call Me Maybe' Singer, Gets Bus Ride Of Fame: Talks About Pressure To Outdo Herself
Carly Rae Jepsen is having her face emblazoned on tour buses around New York City as she stars in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s "Cinderalla on Broadway" for the next three months. The “Call Me Maybe” singer was celebrated on the new Ride of Fame, which honors a celebrity’s reach to fans around the world.
The 28-year-old singer and now actress will have her face featured on Gray Line’s red double-decker tour buses. “Thanks to Ride of Fame for this huge honor! I’m so thrilled! Xox,” the starlet captioned on Instagram.
She also expressed her excitement about heading to Broadway, telling CBC News, "I have fallen in love with Broadway. I've always had a great passion for theatre. I feel like it's something that I will never forget."
Jepsen propelled into stardom around the world in 2011 after her catchy song “Call Me Maybe” went viral. The hit went on to sell 17 million copies, and the music video has been viewed on You Tube over 400 million times. The song also went on to receive two Grammy nominations. The singer spoke with International Business Times about whether or not she feels pressure to outdo herself, due to her previous successes, when she returns to the studio following her time on Broadway.
“I think my goal with music is never about outdoing myself or getting a certain level of fame per say it’s just about trying to create the best music that I can and through different phases of your life as a writer you just kind of get inspired by different things.
If anything I’m just looking forward to making the most quality music that I can and I feel really lucky that I have a team that is so supportive of me and will give me the time and space to do that.”
The beauty also revealed her celebrity crush for all of those wondering. The lucky man? Fellow Canadian native and actor Ryan Gosling.
