Robin's (Mekia Cox, pictured here) sanity is called into question in “Chicago Med” Season 2, episode 21. Elizabeth Sisson/NBC

“Chicago Med” has only two episodes left to air in Season 2. Last week, Dr. Will Halstead’s (Nick Gehlfuss) father was wheeled into the hospital after suffering from a heart problem on the NBC show. Fortunately, he emerged from the surgery and is now on the road to recovery. His father even told him that he loves him.

What will happen in Thursday’s episode of “Chicago Med”?

The focus moves from Will to Dr. Daniel Charles’ (Oliver Platt) daughter Robin (Mekia Cox). She has been hearing rats in her walls and acting erratically lately. According to the official synopsis of Season 2, episode 21, her father will request Sarah (Rachel DiPillo) to conduct a psychological evaluation on his daughter. But he finds it difficult to stay out of her case.

Meanwhile, Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) has a problematic case in his hands. A pregnant woman is admitted to the hospital because she collapsed and has difficulty breathing. Rhodes immediately orders an x-ray to assess the issue but the mother is adamant that no amount of radiation should touch her unborn child. Why? Because her unborn child is a perfect match for her daughter. Her daughter suffers from leukemia and she is bringing another child into this world in order to save her.

Episode 21, titled “Deliver Us,” will also see Will and Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) spending more time together at work. This results in his girlfriend Nina (Patti Murin) taking extreme measures to get his attention.

Given that Murin has landed a new role on Broadway, she will be unable to play Nina. “Chicago Med” executive producer Diane Frolov told TVLine that while Nina’s part of the Will-Natalie-Nina love triangle will be resolved in the Season 2 finale, Will and Natalie’s relationship status will remain a little bit open.

Furthermore, the mystery of Robin’s condition is going to cause some tremendous conflict between Charles, Connor and Sarah. They will each have different ideas on how to treat her. Connor, in particular, will be desperate to help since his mother committed suicide.

Fortunately, the Season 2 finale of “Chicago Med” will somewhat resolve the debate over Robin’s treatment. Showrunner Andrew Schneider told Entertainment Weekly, “It [Robin’s treatment] will have repercussions that will bleed over into the next season.” Surprisingly, Season 2 ends on a cliff-hanger that involves Charles.

“Chicago Med” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC. The Season 2 finale airs on May 11.
