NBC TV series “Chicago Med” aired an emotional episode in Season 2 this week in which the hospital’s Chief Administrator, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), lost a lover. Finally single and ready to mingle after her divorce, Goodwin spent episode 7 fighting to keep the love of her life alive. Sadly, he didn’t survive.

What will happen next week in “Chicago Med”?

Episode 8, wich is also the fall/midseason finale of Season 2, will see Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) face an ethical dilemma that would boggle even the most experienced doctors of the world. Two warring brothers arrive at the hospital and one of them desperately needs a kidney. Fortunately, the other brother is a perfect match to donate his kidneys to him. Unfortunately, that brother is HIV positive.

The promo of the upcoming episode in “Chicago Med,” titled “Free Will,” reveals that the Manning and Halstead are faced with an impossible situation: Let the patient die because he didn’t have a kidney or give him his brother’s kidney and give him HIV. If they give him the kidney, that doctor will knowingly give their patient HIV. On the other hand, he will most definitely die.

While Manning and Halstead ponder over their dilemma, Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) and Dr. Latham (Ato Assandoh) treat a 16-year-old girl with a genetic heart condition. She desperately needs surgery, but her overprotective mother refuses to give consent for the operation.

Elsewhere, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) isn’t happy seeing his daughter Robyn (Mekia Cox) date Rhodes so he interferes in her personal life. Needless to say, she isn’t happy about it.

Unfortunately, April’s (Yaya DaCosta) tuberculosis treatment becomes complicated when she and Halstead make a discovery. The Nurse got engaged to her boyfriend but she hasn’t told him about her illness yet.

“Chicago Med” Season 2, episode 8, which is also the midseason finale, premieres on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
