NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” is back full swing with a brand new Season 4. This week, episode 2 showed the police department solving the case of a white woman who went missing in an African American community. The episode also showed new patrol officer Tay getting along well with Burgess. What will happen next week on the police drama?

“Chicago P.D.” has a special episode in store for fans on Oct. 5. Desk Sargent Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) will be brutally beaten and her life will hang by a thread in Season 4, episode 3 of the series.

Watch the preview of “All Cylinders Firing” below:

According to the official synopsis on NBC, Platt and her father Robert (Chelcie Ross) will become targets of a brutal assailant. The sergeant goes to her father’s house for dinner and meets his new girlfriend Natalie (Lilia Vassileva). She warns him about his new lover.

Later, after dinner, Platt is brutally assaulted when she gets into her car. The officer is then hurriedly rushed to Chicago Med where detectives Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) meet her. They start conducting investigations while Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) prepares her for surgery.

The detectives immediately question “Chicago Fire” character Mouch (Christian Stolte).

Elsewhere, Detective Antonino Dawson (Jon Seda) leads the intelligence team and goes back to the crime scene. He also looks at everyone who has threatened Platt in the past. However, things get worse when Dawson visits Robert and finds evidence of an even more brutal attack that took place in his house. Was his new girlfriend responsible for the attack or was it Commander Foley – the Commander who threatened Platt because he reassigned Tay (Li Jun Li)?

Furthermore, “Chicago P.D.” fans won’t see Dawson for long on the show. Deadline reports that Seda is moving to “Chicago Justice” as a series regular. The character will become an investigator for the District Attorney’s office. Dawson will continue to be on the police drama until “Chicago Justice” premieres midseason.

“Chicago P.D.” Season 4, episode 3 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC.
