Chrishell Stause Told Gleb Savchenko To ‘Social Distance’ From Her At ‘DWTS’ Finale

She has been the focus of rumors since news broke that her dancing partner was separating from his wife, and now, after renewed interest in just how far their relationship has gone, Chrishell Stause is admitting that to try and quell rumors, she tried to tell Gleb Savchenko to stay away from her during the “Dancing With the Stars” finale taping.

While appearing on E!’s “Daily Pop,” the “Selling Sunset” star, who was eliminated from the ABC competition series just days before Savchenko and his wife, Elena Samodanova, announced their split, revealed that with rumors flying the way they were, she actually joked about keeping her distance from him when they reunited at the finale taping.

“I was like, ‘Stay away from me!’” she said. “Social distance! Blame it on COVID.”

The two were seen standing near each other from one of the set balconies as they watched the finale performances, which brought on more speculation, though Stause revealed she understood where viewers were coming from after noting that they had chemistry on the dance floor.

“I feel like it really is annoying because it’s one of those things where, you know, unfortunately, the timing of what he’s going through personally, people want to make it into something it’s not,” she said. “So we’re just friends.”

“I get it,” she added. “I’ve been on soaps. You have to have that kind of stuff sometimes when you’re on the dance floor. People misinterpret that.”

After Savchenko’s announcement that his marriage was ending, his wife revealed that he had been unfaithful, stating it had happened throughout the marriage, but indicate a recent relationship had been the tipping point.

“Gleb’s ongoing infidelity and a recent inappropriate relationship has created turmoil in our marriage and absolutely torn our family apart,” Samodanova said. “No wife should ever stand by and watch while another woman gifts her husband expensive presents, lures him out to dinner and seduces him at every turn.”

Both Stause and Savchenko have denied their relationship was anything other than platonic, but a show insider also said their relationship had always been flirty on set, and even though rumors were continuing to fly, they weren’t going to try and keep themselves from staying a part of each other’s lives.

“Chrishell and Gleb are still testing all the time and have been in contact about the public frenzy surrounding them,” the source said at the time. “Chrishell isn’t bothered by the attention either.”
