Criminal Minds
“Criminal Minds” Season 12 will premiere a Halloween-themed episode in which an Unsub has killed seven people and hides in the woods. Watch “Keeper” on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS. CBS

CBS’ “Criminal Minds” got former BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) member turned Interpol Agent Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) back in Season 12, episode 3. Hotch (Thomas Gibson) was given a temporary assignment and Pentiss decided to help the team with their case load. What will happen in episode 4?

CBS has yet to release a synopsis of the upcoming episode which airs after two weeks. There is no “Criminal Minds” episode airing next week. However, when the crime show returns for a Halloween-themed episode on Oct. 26, it will be one suspense-driven, nail-biting ride. The promo of Season 12, episode 4 reveals that the team will hunt an Unsub hiding in the woods. And he’s killed seven people already! Yikes.

The trailer promises that the mystery will chill you to the bones while the killer’s victim emits horrifying screams. Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez) and Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) are seen combing the woods and searching for this serial killer. Even tech genius Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) chimes in, “This is scary.”

The trailer makes no mention of Hotch. Gibson was fired after he allegedly assaulted a “Criminal Minds” writer and producer on set. The altercation took place during episode 3. Hopefully, we will get an explanation of his permanent absence from the show soon.

Hotch can be written off in a number of ways. He could convert his temporary assignment to a permanent one, leave the BAU for a better offer or quit to spend time with his son. Unfortunately, fans of the long-time show will not get a proper goodbye.

“Criminal Minds” Season 12 returns with a bone-chilling Halloween-themed episode, tiled “Keeper,” on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
