Criminal Minds
“Criminal Minds” Season 12, episode 5 airs Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS. CBS

“Criminal Minds” has had several cast shakes in Season 12. While these changes affect the casting off-screen, when it comes to on-screen, the characters in the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) also have to deal with adjustments in team dynamics.

Tech genius Penelope Garica (Kirsten Vangsness) is especially having a hard time adjusting to Derek Morgan’s (Shemar Moore) replacement – Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez). Alvez understands that she just wants his friend back, but he is trying to develop a relationship with the computer-savvy bespectacled BAU member.

In a recent “Criminal Minds” episode, Garcia discovered that Roxie is actually Luke’s beloved dog and not his girlfriend. So, in order to become friends with the latest team member, Garcia brings gifts for the four-legged poodle. However, her well-intentioned gifts aren’t appreciated by Alvez.

Watch the sneak peek video below:

Garcia brings doggie biscuits and a soft sweater. “You paused,” she tells the FBI Agent. “You don’t like it.” Turns out, Roxie is on a raw food diet. Still, her gifts were thoughtful.

Next Wednesday’s episode of “Criminal Minds” will see the profilers investigate the deaths of two families. However, there is one sole survivor in each family – a teenage daughter and son. The team investigates these teenagers and realizes that the case is linked to incidents of bullying in a high school. Did the teenagers kill their parents or did someone who was bullying him do that? Either way, the case in episode 5, titled “The Anti-Terrorism Squad,” is an interesting one.

“Criminal Minds” Season 12, apart from Vangsness and Rodriguez, also stars Matthew Gray Gubler as Dr. Spencer Reid, Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, A.J. Cook as Jennifer “J.J.” Jareau and Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis.

“Criminal Minds” Season 12 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
