Daniel Martin got candid about how being branded as Meghan Markle's makeup artist made him feel.

Martin and the Duchess of Sussex are good friends that is why she asked him to do her makeup on her big day. It's almost been three years since Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot but many still call him "Meghan Markle's makeup artist." When asked how he was feeling about the title, Martin said it was fine with him.

"Meghan and I, we talk about this all the time. I'm always going to be that person, how some people are, I'm always going to be Meghan Markle's makeup artist for the rest of my life," he told People. "Which is totally fine because we're friends. I think if we didn't have a personal connection, it would definitely be different. It's wild that we're coming on three years [since the wedding] and I will forever get asked."

He went on and explained that "it's not bad." Also, he never disclosed to the public what he used on Markle during the royal wedding, so it has remained a mystery and he knew that the issue will always come up.

"That's just, I guess that's just how it is. It's like Mario [Dedivanovic] with Kim Kardashian or Sir John who is Beyoncé's makeup artist," he continued.

"There's always going to be that tie-in with the person, which is totally fine. It's not a bad thing. At the end of the day, I was my own person before that. I have been very fortunate too. My career evolved from that as well. It is what it is. It's not about the association. I'm just grateful that there's still a personal tie to the person at the end of the day."

In 2018, months after Prince Harry and Markle's royal wedding, the makeup artist shared that the duchess has been doing her own makeup and "she's good at it." However, he specifically mentioned that Markle's fans won't likely see her wearing red lipstick.

"The one time she did a red lip, she just didn’t feel comfortable with it," Martin explained. "She likes to talk and she's not a fussy person, so she doesn't want to have to worry about anything."
