Demi Lovato casually dropped a bombshell about her sexuality during an appearance on the talk show “Alan Carr: Chatty Man” Friday night. The 23-year-old singer was appearing on the British television show to promote her new song “Cool for the Summer,” when she hinted that she’s bisexual and the track may be about a female relationship.

After they talked about Lovato’s numerous tattoos, Carr asked the pop star whether “Cool for the Summer” was about “lesbianism.” With provocative lyrics such as “Tell me what you want, what you like. It’s OK, I’m a little curious, too” and “Got a taste for the cherry, I just need to take a bite,” it’s clear to see how the TV host could have suspected Lovato was referring to a same-sex fling.

However, Lovato played coy, responding, “I’m not confirming, and I’m definitely not denying.” She added: “All my songs are based off personal experiences. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with experimentation at all.” Carr then said he “experimented once,” but it stuck. “I didn’t say it didn’t stick, either,” Lovato said, laughing.

While the singer definitely teased she may have experimented with girls in the past, Lovato is currently dating actor Wilmer Valderrama and it appears the two are very much in love. During a New Zealand radio interview in July, the “Heart Attack” singer said she expects to marry the “Minority Report” actor one day. “I am very, very in love with him. I think we’ll probably wait a little bit longer, but if he asked tomorrow, I’d say yes,” Lovato said.

However, she recently shot down rumors she was engaged, writing on Instagram: “He’s there for me when others aren’t ... He supports me when others won’t ... He loves me when others don’t. (not engaged ... yall are crazy).” Check out the video below of Lovato talking about her song “Cool for the Summer.”
